Hi,
I’ve recently gotten attention from various sources about a banned player claiming to help in the ARM development, the story is as follows:
Player Mortred, governor in US server Israphel, was recently caught on a livestream with AionScript in his Aion folder, and was thus banned. It seems he has been asking all major legions and players to support him asking NC to unban him, with the excuse that he had helped in the development of the AionScript detection code in my damage meter application and he had the cheating app only for testing and development purposes (according to what I’ve been told).
This is completely false, since the only developer involved in my meter application is ME, nobody else is involved in any way other than helping test and supply damage log data.
I guess he picked this excuse thinking we wouldn’t hear about it since I play in European servers.

Please note that you aren’t welcome to use my dmg meter if you run AionScript, the meter will detect it and terminate itself; renaming the AS filename won’t help either.

From what I hear the Faction is still going to Let him lead the sieges.. How bout them apples. Time to transfer out I think if this is the way the server wants to be led, they want him to lead anyway. Is this the server Or the leaders of the legions making this decision? I do not know, I just know I would rather be on a server that tries to fight and win legit.

Alright an another case. If Mortred did cheat than why the whole account? Why you ask? Easy, he payed for 2 long year for his account for the months reward. Also it the account that am worry about. Did he pay so that aion can owned it? No. Did he pay for the server? No. He pay so he can keep that account active. Question for all you people. Why not just remove that character? Since aion say he cheated with Mortred NOT with his other character. Give me a good reason why the whole account then.

Morty caught cheating lol and look how he claims he sent e-mail using curse and yet the admin clearly did not recieve any e mails regarding logs and parses sent (post #20), I love how these retards get caught up in their own lies

Ok, please can you clarify about this for now? You are pretty much implying you did some code for my app linked to your usage of AionScript.
This was the old site for the meter http://aion.curseforge.com/addons/rain/ I guess you contacted me from there then, but I never received anything.

i deleted the logs a while ago but ill see if eulogia (sin on our server) has a copy of it since i sent the same thing verbatim

Hmm I see, I don’t know then; I used curse last year for a couple days, intending to use it as the main project home for the meter, but it was a mess so I setup this small wp site instead; I check now but there are no messages there, I hadn’t used that for months. If you sent me anything, I never received it.
no, not aionsource, i sent it via curse. and that message i meant was because rainmeter coincidentally added aionscript detection in january/february soon after i sent the logs. i sent in the logs in the first place because a legion on our server named REUNION was convinced that Caite and a few others were no animation hacking (which is what i researched aionscript can do, since it doesnt physically boost your atk spd) so i figured it contributed toward the aionscript detection methods and hooks
@Mortred I did, if you mean the inbox on AionSource, don’t have any message from you though; outgoing messages are saved as “conversations” under profile settings. Hi, I never said I was a developer to rainmeter, ever, in any post. I said i was a contributor in terms of sending logs and parses. I emailed you a few siege defenses from israphel where Caite was doing substantially higher number of auto attacks than any other assassin, for example. I personally ran Rainmeter, which is how I would always spam the damage rankings after each dredg commander died. Anyone from Elyos side that showed up to defenses can confirm that. Even the cover-up story he used was filled with holes, and now shown to be a lie thanks to the answers the admin here gave to my questions. If you’re referring to the video I linked to, it was uploaded on January 22nd. I’m not sure exactly when the AionScripts detection module was implemented but to my understanding, it was fairly recently (i.e. the only references about it on Aion Rainmeter were on February 14th and February 19th.) Aion Rainmeter probably wasn’t able to detect AionScripts when he had it on.

I doubt he was banned solely on the screenshots/videos provided; most likely NC performed a deeper check on logs based on the reports. (he wasn’t using dmg meter btw).
I think you all need to get your eyes checked. I want to thank you as well, I was actually considering sending NCsoft a web mail asking them to review his case. I am glad I did not do it. Not only was he a cheater in game (proven now) but, he stole credit from a programmer (arrogantly at that). As a programmer myself, I understand how that is something very wrong to do. Credit is deserved, and to you / testers only. Thank you for clearing this up to us all.

Some of us were giving him the benefit of the doubt regarding the situation, but now it is clear that his ban was definitely a correct move by NCSoft to try and keep the integrity of this game.
